Meet Our Team

Meet Wendy, March’s Spotlight Staff Member

Hi!  My name is Wendy Pierce and I have been working at PK Walsh for 2 ½ years.  My husband, David, works with John, Nikki’s husband at UPS, who are friends. David came home and told me Nikki was looking for someone and I decided to apply for a position at PK Walsh.

Currently, I am an administrator coordinator at PK Walsh, so if you call during after hours and get our voice mail, that’s me. Invoicing, scheduling, ordering, shipping, are just some of my responsibilities.

I have learned a lot about hair replacement and Nikki and the other staff members have truly impressed me.

Nikki, Rachel, Teri and Sue, treat everyone who comes in as if they are a personal friend and I am consistently amazed how they are with the clients.

I live on the South Shore with my husband, David, our 17-year-old daughter, Taylor who is graduating high school this year, and our American Eskimo dog named Mitzi. My passion is singing, where I used to perform in nightclubs. Friends and family are very important to me.

Meet Teri, February’s Spotlight Staff Member

Hi, my name is Teri and I joined the PK Walsh family in July of 2010.  I must say this definitely is one of the best moves I’ve made within the beauty industry to date.  What I enjoy the most is that we are really helping women feel beautiful and normal again.

Seems like yesterday when I graduated from Mansfield beauty academy in 1987. I worked for several beauty chains in Massachusetts before moving to sunny Florida where I lived and worked for 20 years.  While in Florida I went back to school for training as a medical assistant and phlebotomist.  As time went by I realized my real passion is working on HAIR, and came back to New England ready to cut, curl and beautify locks.

My friend Sue was on staff at PK Walsh for over 10 years and talked about them in such a positive way.  I thought they might be able to use another stylist/artist. The good news is they were actually looking for a new stylist.  Right after meeting with Nikki Walsh I signed on.

The work we do at PK Walsh is the most satisfying that I have ever experienced in the beauty industry.  At the end of each day I feel so good because I know I have helped someone feel more confident about themselves.

Meet Sue, January’s Spotlight Staff Member

Hi, My name is Sue Lamont and have been a hairdresser for over 40 years. I went to hairdressing school when I was a senior in high school attending night classes and day classes after graduation. In the 1980′s, I opened my own salon called “Shea Madness”, which I owned and operated for 15 years. When the building went up for sale, I made the decision to close the salon and rent a chair in a salon located in Framingham.

One day, at the gym, I met Kathy Walsh. We talked and Kathy asked me if I would like to come by and visit PK Walsh. So I did and felt right at ease. I started working part time at Pk Walsh while keeping my chair in Framingham. I began to think about working full time at PK Walsh, and here I am! I like my job and love the people I work with. PK Walsh is a family business and it’ s a great place to work.

Working full time was the best decision. I truly enjoy the variety of services that  I do such as consulting, finishing work, checking the wigs and hair pieces making sure of the correct coloring. One of my favorite things to do is to perm the hair pieces. My job is to listen and accommodate the client’s needs. I truly enjoy my job, challenges and all!

Just recently, I am a new grandmother to a beautiful baby girl. My plan is to spend as much time as possible with her. If only there were more days in a week! I am here at PK Walsh forever and consider them family!

Meet Rachel, December’s Spotlight Staff Member

Hi, my name is Rachel Falino. I have been working as a stylist at PK Walsh for 18 years. Back when I was in high school, Kathy Walsh (Founder of PK Walsh) came in to my cosmetology class and showed us different ways to help work with hair loss. I thought to myself what a different road someone can go down. Later that week all the girls in school were talking about what salon they would love to work in on Newbury Street, but I had no interest working that crazy life. I had two interviews that month — one with Supercuts and the other with PK Walsh. Guess which one hired me.

Over the years I have been at PK, I have seen many changes with our products, clients and staff; but the one thing that has never changed is our mission to help women. I love what I do and I can’t see myself doing anything else. Just this past January, I got a promotion to be technical director (what is that? you may ask). My new responsibilities include: customer service, keeping in touch with our clients, getting all the new trends of our hair care products, making our staff happy.

On a personal note, I am a mother of girl/boy twins: my son is autistic so I am involved in a lot of charity work. I am on a board for Light up the Night Gala for Autism. This will be our 4th year. Also I am the treasurer for Revere SEPAC (Special Education Parent’s Advisory Council). Don’t ask why they got me to be the treasurer — I cut hair — can’t count money.

One of my most fulfilling accomplishments is that I helped pass a law in Massachusetts that all level 3 sex offenders living in a homeless shelter must wear a mandatory GPS monitored device.

So there you have it — a little girl just out of high school to a woman helping women. To meet and discuss your current situation with our qualified PK Walsh hair loss professionals  Click here http://www.pkwalsh.com/inner/request_appointment.htm
