In 1986 Nikki’s high school was one of the first to be invited to tour China and attend Shanghai University. After spending a summer there, Nikki became more familiar with the language and learned a great deal about the culture and International Relations. After high school, Nikki attended the University of Mass and studied Chinese as well as International Marketing.
After her studies Nikki decided she wanted to join PK Walsh. Kathy Walsh, Nikki’s mom, was delighted to have Nikki get involved, though had one condition, Nikki had to learn the company from the ground up and attend beauty school. Therefore, she would have both the business and practical experience for her future in the hair replacement industry.
Nikki excelled in beauty school and in 1994 joined PK Walsh. From washing hair to ordering hair pieces, Nikki was able to learn all aspects of the company. At just 37 years of age, Nikki is one of the youngest leaders in this competitive hair replacement industry. In her private time Nikki is an active member of the North Eastern Center for Family Business, as well as being an elected board member in the exclusive Transitions International, a prestigious world wide marketing group of the best hair replacement specialists in the world. This past year Nikki won the prestigious 2010 Stevie Award For Best Overall Company Of The Year.
Currently, Nikki is president and owner of PK Walsh Hair Solutions for Women. A non-surgical women’s hair replacement company located in Needham, MA. Much like her mother, Kathy Walsh (who founded PK Walsh in 1983), Nikki also suffers from hair loss and knows first hand that confidence can be regained with the right hair loss solution.
In 2007, after a successful succession, Nikki bought PK Walsh. Today, Nikki hopes to carry on the tradition of empowering women and helping them to live more confident lives. Nikki resides in Norwood, MA and spends her spare time with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, quilting, boating, and yes ….even getting her hair wet.
